The AB 74101-169-53 is the BDB kit (base driver/power supply board) for the 460 Volts 75 Horsepower rated drives from the AB 1336 PLUS/PLUS II/FORCE/ IMPACT series. Its alternate part number is 1336-BDB-SP29D, which is the successor to the obsolete 1336-BDB-SP29A/1336-BDB-SP29C boards. One 74101-169-53 BDB kit is installed per drive. Due to the presence of extremely high voltage levels, drive repair/maintenance should only be performed by trained staff, and with the aid of either a service/troubleshooting manual or with manufacturer assistance. To avoid operator injury/death, electrical power to a 1336 PLUS/PLUS II/FORCE/IMPACT drive should be disconnected before the installation or removal of the 74101-169-53 board.

Drives should be repaired/serviced or have the 74101-169-53 kit installed after the bus voltage has come down to 0 Volts. The bus voltage can be checked at the +DC/-DC brake terminals. To avoid potential damage to drive components due to ESD (Electro-Static Discharge), service technicians are required to wear a grounding strap (wrist-type) which is connected to the drive chassis. Any faulty/suspect boards should be put inside conductive packets immediately once they are removed from the drives. The 1336 drives are adjustable frequency AC drives designed for different applications and they have different specifications: 1336 PLUS and PLUS II drives offer output power ratings from 0.5 to 600 Horsepower (0.37 to 448 kW) and it supports sensorless vector technology, the 1336 Force drives provide output power ratings from 0.75 to 485 kW (1 to 650 Horsepower) and the 1336 IMPACT series support output ratings from 0.5 to 800 Horsepower (0.37 to 597 kW).
