According to Nikkei News on the afternoon of December 21, Sharp, a
subsidiary of Hon Hai Group Holdings,
will invest 1 trillion yen (about 61.1 billion yuan) to build a
wafer factory in China. Later on the evening of
December 21, Nikkei News reported again that Foxconn was
negotiating with the Zhuhai Municipal Government
of China to build a chip factory in Zhuhai with an investment of
about 9 billion US dollars (about 62 billion RMB).
