The module uses a rechargeable Lithium Vanadium Pentoxide battery to back up the

real-time clock and CMOS settings. The battery itself should last for the life of the module.

However, if left in an unpowered state for 14 to 21 days, the battery may become fully

discharged and require recharging by being placed in a powered-up ControlLogix chassis.​
