1785-L40C

The 1785-L40C is a PLC-5 controller manufactured by AB. This controller has various ports which includes a 25-pin D Serial port which supports the EIA RS-232C and RS413 devices and it is RS-422A compatible. The controller has indicators to display the status of the controller systems. The BATT indicator indicates the battery status, and it turns red when the battery is low. The PROC indicator is green when running and red when there is a problem. The FORCE indicator is amber when the I/O forces are enabled and the COMM indicator is green when the channel is communicating on the COM port. Users can install the memory module and the battery in the controller module. The 1785-L40C draws a backplane current of 3.3 Amps at 5 Volts DC.

The maximum user memory is 48KB and it has a 48K word SRAM. The controller also has a mini 8-pin DIN connector for programming and a 3-pin default DH+ port. The controller is built to be operated at an ambient temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius in a non-condensing humid environment having a humidity range between 5 and 95%. The 1785-L40C can withstand an operating shock of 30G and it weighs 1.42 Kg. The 1785-L40C has a program backup option using an EEPROM. The maximum total I/O for the 1785-L40C is 2048 which includes any mix of inputs and outputs. It also has a battery-backed static RAM. The 1785-L40C also has a RJ45 connector ControlNet Network Access port.
